Default Pittsburgh home game - 1/2 and 2/5 NL

I recently bought a table, I'm looking to run 1/2 and 2/5 NL games at my place near the UPitt campus.

Looking for people who are interested in playing. I won't be charging rake, hence why I feel fine posting this.

You are a good candidate for my game if:
-You are a college student, or just older than that
-I can facebook you before inviting to my game to make sure you aren't shady
-You can't beat 10/20 online (though one night this fall I want to run a game with the best players I know)
-You have more than 3 posts on 2+2 at the time of messaging me
-You are fun to have at the table. The game is meant to be a social game, regardless of the stakes.

PM me for more information if you're interested.

So, only fish need apply? Not sure if this is going to hurt your recruiting or not.

I have some suggestions for you regarding this, for YOU. PM or email me if you want 'em

Good luck with starting the game up. Let me know how it goes.

Wait... where are you going to find fish who can be facebooked, can't beat 10/20, and have a 2+2 posting history? Seems like you're kind of shooting yourself in the foot.

dcasper: Seconded. Larry would be a great mod.

The facebook preference shoots me in the foot? You realize most 2+2ers are 25 or younger, right?

Thanks for telling me how to run my game, guys.

Why add in that bit about beating 10/20 online. If the person is friendly at the game and not shady then why not just let them play.

All I was trying to say is that people with Poker Facebook accounts and 2+2 posting histories are likely to be better players than random fish that don't know about 2+2.

With all due respect, you're going to have a pretty difficult time finding a consistent group of college age 2/5 NL players. You'd need to do a ton of advertising beyond this site, and I would hope between you and your close friends you already have half the table filled.

Simply put, most college kids are recreational players and don't have near the bankroll to consistently play even decent sized games. Start advertising for college kids, and you'll get responses from people who are looking to play $20 home tournaments, or people who show up once, buy in for $200, stack off with AJs, and never come again.

eh kinda agree, but it all depends what the scene is around you. I know in my college city (philadelphia) we have an easy time running a 1/2 NL game 4 nights a week and have 2/5 running maybe 2 or 3 times. Check homepokergames.com and maybe make a post there too. 2+2 is a great start, but you'll need to branch off and advertise more without getting into the legal intracacies of poker. GL
