Default 3/6 Live: Too aggressive on turn?

Playing in my usual Friday night B&M donkfest. There are one or two decent players though. Villain is one of them and I've played with him a few times and he's a thinking player (and possibly a winning one).

Villain is in BB.
Folded to hero in MP1. Hero calls with QJo
One or two others limp in, SB completes and BB checks.
Flop: A 10 K rainbow (Broadway! woo hoo )

Villain checks, Hero bets, folds to Villain who calls.
Turn: 10
Villain bets, Hero raises, Villain 3-bets...

It's here that I meant to just call, but for some reason my hands grab chips and inadvertently cap it. Thinking that I just called, I sit patiently waiting for the dealer to deal the river. When nothing happens, I ask what's going on and realize that Villain is pondering a call. He then mucks.

Did I lose an extra bet or two by capping it? Was it too aggressive? All thoughts on all streets are appreciated.

Raise preflop, limping is kinda bad.

100% villain isn't a winner.

way wrong. Raising QJo in a donkfest loose game is just spewing chips.

Just because you are playing in a petty zoo doesn't mean you need to play like a donkey.

Fold that crap.

It is far from spewing chips.

Folding is fine, as is raising. Open limping it is the worse of the 3 options.

Yeah, I busted him about an hour later. Perhaps he called me down with my runner-runner boat because he wondered what I had the last time (posted hand) I played the turn strong against him heads up.

The question I have, is should I have just called the 3-bet and called down a river bet and earned another 2BB?

Only if you can say:

A) He will fold to a 4-bet
B) He will bet the river if you just call

B is likely, but A wasn't. You played the hand to get the most value from QT, JT, Ax, etc., even against a "thinking" player. If he happened to have nothing, that's too bad.

Also, wouldn't your line (call 3-bet and call river) only net you one more BB?

why in the world would you want to raise with QJo in MP at a 3/6 game??? Unless you know that everyone behind you will fold, I just don't see where the value in that move...

As for the caping on the turn, I think that you probably missed out on a bet but that's ok, it happens to all of us.

Yeah, that's what I figured. He must have had a baby ace, because most people wouldn't fold a 10 here. If he was a "thinking player", he'd at least draw to the river if he held trips.
