Re: I HAS Jacks
I think you have to call, given pot odds and how drawy the flop is.
Although, sucky players don't seem to go nuts with draws as much as good players. |

Re: I HAS Jacks
i like the way you played the hand if you called. i'm not leading this flop unless I planned to call a raise.

Re: I HAS Jacks
You gotta call, you have odds against TT+/AK/87!

But am I the only one that thinks that blindly sticking another 54bb in with second pair here is kind of retarded? I mean, AT THE TIME HE PUSHES we basically have breakeven odds against that range, but could we have played this hand in such a way as to have avoided that spot? |

Re: I HAS Jacks
So it looks like you're calling $65 into a $200 pot, roughly 3:1. But if he has a king, you're down to 2 outs (10:1). To make this call, he needs to be on a draw or bluffing (that is, without a King) 70% of the time. Calling here is just stubbornness and spew.

Calling here is just stubbornness and spew. [/ QUOTE ] No. People who buy in for $120 almost always suck. Here is a reasonable range below that makes this a call. Text results appended to pokerstove.txt 65,340 games 0.005 secs 13,068,000 games/sec Board: Ks 8c 7s Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 25.067% 25.00% 00.07% 16332 46.50 { JcJd } Hand 1: 74.933% 74.86% 00.07% 48915 46.50 { TT, 88-77, AKs, A8s, KTs+, T9s, Ts8s, 9s8s, 87s, 6s5s, AKo, KTo+ } What do you guys think? I think he can be pushing here with A8 sometimes and with T9s sometimes, even if he doesn't have spades. I didn't even include any random flush draws that would push. Those saying it's a fold, what do you think? Also, this doesn't take into account that he may not want to fold after putting in like 18% of his stack preflop. |

[/ QUOTE ] I really don't want to be checking this flop because I think people who buy in for $120 usually suck badly and will be happy to get it all in here with all kinds of garbage. We don't know how he would play his draws and if he's checking them behind, we are losing money by not betting. If he checks behind worse hands like 8x, TT-99, we are getting less streets to stack him and stacking him on later streets is alot harder and more awkward. What line would you prefer? Check call down? Check/call one street and fold the turn? Even though it does suck to put 54BB's in with second pair, I think betting is the best option, although I'm open to suggestions. |
