2/5 NL in Vegas plays like what online stakes?
I will be making my 2nd trip to Vegas next week. Last time just stayed at the 1/2NL tables.
I am a 100NL player online, I know obviously the 1/2 in Vegas is wayyyy easier than 100NL online but how would the average strip 2/5NL game compare to Party or Stars 100NL? |

Re: 2/5 NL in Vegas plays like what online stakes?
Reason I asked here instead of the B&M forum is that I think I would get a better answer from people here who know my online stakes so well.

Re: 2/5 NL in Vegas plays like what online stakes?
I think it depends on where you play and at what times and stuff. Last time I was there I remember the 2/5 game at Bellagio played MUCH more aggressively than a typical 100NL game - and not in a good spewtardy sort of way. Just might have been a bad table for me I dunno, limited experience.
I think none of the games really are that similar to the online games, since it's FR not 6max firstly, open raising to 6BB by default can be norm, etc. If you're playing during prime time and you're a good 100NL player I think you can handle 2/5. The only thing I'd worry about is if you will feel totally comfortable with $500+ in front of you, and if you get sucked out on for over a BI if it will ubertilt you, etc. (I realize everyone always says "no of course not money is no object to me" - but I'm putting it out there anyways hehe) |

Yeah, that is important as I don't have many $1000+ pots under my belt. Point taken. Thanks for the input.

I think it totally depends on the table, during the WSOP it prob played kinda like 1/2.
Also look to play in the games with 1000 cap or no cap. Ie wynn, venitian etc. |

Those Wynn uncapped games seemed pretty nitty to me. Felt like a bunch of deep nitty TAGs feasting on the random shortstack moron tourists/drunks/whatever that'd buy in. Again, limited experience on my part.
Also, the chips in that freaking 1/3 uncapped game make me tilt. |

I had 5 denominations of chips in my stack for a while in that game and it annoyed me (1/2/3/5/25).

from my experience, the lowerish limit wynn games were harder than the others for sure.

I think it depends on where you play and at what times and stuff. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, it's all over the map, from tough to very soft. You can't really compare it to online, they are just different games. But don't sit there at a tough table, just switch. There was just an article on it somewhere, I don't remember where, maybe the latest cardplayer. But things like stealing and PVSing with marginal hands just don't work, if people limp they almost always call, and there's almost always a flop. It's mostly getting in cheap with good implied odds hands and hoping you hit. |
