PLO200: shoving KKQTds preflop?
6-handed PLO200.
Hero is MP with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and $250. BB is unknown with $244; joined very recently. UTG is 62/14/0.24 over 100 hands and covers. UTG limps, hero raises to $9, CO calls, 2 folds, BB raises to $39, UTG calls, Hero...? If I call what is my plan on flops that don't hit me? Is getting it all in here and now alright considering there is some dead money and maybe UTG comes along? |

Don't worry about this now, there are a ton different flop scenarios that can develop three way here. You have a good multiway hand, and you are in position. I would assume BB to have AAxx most of the time, but not all of the time. Just call 90 percent of the time here. Unless BB is up to something tricky, he is going to be the one in jeopardy on many flops with two players to act behind him. It is not worth pushing here and trying to win the dead money and press a small edge when you will still be 100bb+ deep and can get often get the money in as a big favorite when the flop is to your liking. |

I need to remember how much I myself hate it when somebody flatcalls a 3bet when I've got aces; especially OOP.

You guys forget CO is still active in the hand so hero isn't closing off action or in position.
As some fun trivia. What if CO pushes over all this and BB time folds out and utg folds. Would this be a felting hand then? |

BB wouldnt fold there stop joking
i prefer call any amount in multiway pot before the flop i dont like push here because we get called by just hands that beat us (even with deamoney its just a coinflip and i dont like coinflips) |

[ QUOTE ] As some fun trivia. What if CO pushes over all this and BB time folds out and utg folds. Would this be a felting hand then? [/ QUOTE ] Without running any sims: YES [/ QUOTE ] Might be closer than you'd think. KKxx, even a very strong one like the one in the OP, doesn't run too well against AAxx, which we have to assume is the holding of CO 99% of the time here. There are about $120 in dead money at this point. Assuming CO covers us we're asked to call about $200 to win a $520 pot. Good odds, but consider the following: AA** 69.95% 419,084 1,245 KK** 30.05% 179,671 1,245 AA** 62.63% 375,415 740 KsKdQdTs 37.37% 223,845 740 AsAdJd9s 72.89% 791,568 108 KsKdQdTs 27.11% 294,332 108 As you can see, against a random AAxx we're actually slightly behind in terms of potodds if my quick math is correct. Still, I'm probably calling though. The hand is just too purdy! |
