Variance: Playing with a True Believer
After a dozen hands at a 1/2 limit 6-max table, it's become clear to me that the player to my right will rarely fold preflop. (As I type he is 86%/44% over 40 hands) This set of hands comes up.
Psycho is MP, I am CO. UTG raises, Psycho calls, I fold, button 3-bets, blinds fold, UTG calls, Psycho caps, all call. Flop 5s-8s-2h. Psycho and button cap it, UTG folds. Turn 9h. Three bets. River 4x. Psycho bets, button calls. Psycho shows 5d 2c, button shows QQ. Next hand, psycho folds UTG. As play continues... I said, "wow, he folds!" Psycho said, "some times" I said, "but not with 52o" Psycho said, "well if you play long you can predict the flup" Next hand, UTG raises, fold to button who 3-bets, psycho in SB says "i got flush now\" and caps, I fold BB, all call. Flop has two diamonds, button bets and both call. Turn is a blank, button bets and psycho folds. River is a diamond and psycho says "diam". Two hands later he three-bets with 64s, flops 57 and rivers the 8. He then spends the next 15 minutes "predicting the flop" with absolutely no success. Brag: Up $20, mostly from this psycho. Beat: He just stood up. Variance: I've almost punched my computer from the retarded play. |
