No need to raise this much. 2.5x does the same job at this blind level. You have a healthy stack and don't really want to price yourself in to calling a push with this hand, and you don't want to waste more chips than necessary if you have to fold.

As played, 1795 in the pot and 1045 to call isn't enough. You're never a big favourite (unless you think he does this with A2/22/X2 and that's still a tiny part of his range). I doubt you have more than 30% equity here.

A read and a range for him to do this would be useful, but with 13BB he is nowhere near desperate enough to make this move with a weak hand.



E2A: Don't post the flop, turn and river - the decision was made preflop and you want people to advise you on that basis, not with foreknowledge of what's coming.

Steal raise is fine. Limping is fine (IIRC Curtains has made some good posts about the open limp on the button tactic).

Just don't raise for value.
