3-Handed w/a Short Stack
Looking back, I'm wondering if, based on the presence of the short stack, I should have played this differently. Does it make any sense to bet enough to put BB all in, but leaving myself a bit just in case SB wakes up with a hand? Or should I just assume, like I did, that my hand was likely the best at the table and push?

Re: 3-Handed w/a Short Stack
Seems absolutely fine with the blinds as big as they are. If SB wakes up with a hand that you're behind, if you don't suck out, that's poker. On a 3-handed table A9o is very likely going to be the best hand.

Re: 3-Handed w/a Short Stack
Ok, that's what I thought. I think I just got slightly results-oriented looking back over the hand and knowing I would likely have waltzed into at least second if I had played more timidly.

Haha. I mean, you do realize some of the time BB doubles up on this hand and the 2 of you have equal stacks heading into the next hand. You can't waltz into any finish position with 300/600 blinds. The shove is fine. |

Obviously when sitting at the table, I've got to be thinking my A9 suited is good. But I just wanted to know if anyone ever decides to play it safe and just raise to $1600 just in case. Thanks for the feedback guys. |

Re: 3-Handed w/a Short Stack
Dude, raising to 1600 and folding would be awful. Stop being so results oriented. People have hands sometimes, it happens. This is a really really really really really standard shove.

[/ QUOTE ] Isn't that, basically word for word, what I've been saying all along? Sometimes I just question myself, which I think is natural. Anyway, thanks again for the feeback everyone. |
