Default Would YOU play this game???

at my local casino, they have finally gotten a NL game, it is "1/2 NL".....with a min buy in of 100$ and a max of 200$

The weird part of this is that in order to play a hand u have to put in 5$, so no matter what its 5$, hence...making it equivalent to a 5/5 NL game,

Even if u are the blind u have to put more money out there, and it also makes the standard opening raise from 2-3x the BB, therefore making it 15-20$ .....

This is also the only NL game in town, and its quite popular, but its impossible to buy in for 100$ , and even 200$ isnt enough to play properly.

What do u guys think? inpu please

sounds like a typical 1/2 nl game where most of the opponents are raising 10x the BB, this game texture is more common than you would imagine in a live situation (but I have never heard the rules as you describe it).

Can you post the actual rule which forces a minimum $5 bet? Thats a very odd rule.

Of course not. I hate money and try to flee from opportunities that would bring it to me in truckloads.

I'd rather "play properly" so I decided to take up chess because B&M opponents just weren't challenging me.

Sheesh... as said, it's not that different from other very profitable short-stacked games. Rooms can't let their fish bust out in about a month, sorry.

So it is 1/2 blinds and 5 to come in? This is not that unusual. I'm kind of surprised you have not seen it TT.

The strategy for this game isn't any different than it would be for any other 3/5 200 max game.

sure I'd play it.

Don't stress so much over starting with 40bb. Most of your opponents wont have a clue about stack sizes anyway. Start with 3 buy ins, bet your good hands, if you bust rebuy, rinse, repeat.

Some Bay Area rooms, at least. I know Lucky Chances used to have a $100 SL that was 1/2 with a bring-in of 4. Think of it as a more traditional three blind game without the third blind.
