Ace high at the river and I like raising better
Taj 10 game.
History with villain in this first hand. Arrived at table as an unknown. One of his first hands I get involved four ways with KJs. He raises a T high flop and I CC with my two overs and FD. Turn and river are both J's. He seems upset. Few hands later I make a semi-positional bet in a limped pot with my FD and it gets HU with him in BB. I barrel the brick turn and give up on brick river and he shows AJ UI to take the hand. This one felt like he was determined to win this hand because he was on semi-tilt from the previous KJ hand or he was just a fishy player. This hand comes up much latter in the session. Villain has proved to be a better player than I originally thought postflop. Still many of the usual live player mistakes but not a bad player overall. My image should be pretty solid to him maybe a little laggy but that would only be because my online 6max play forces me to make conscious adjustments when playing live. What I view as a little too passive may be overaggressive to these guys. Who knows. The hand. A new player just posted to my right. I'm in the hijack seat. It folds around to him and he checks his option. I iso-raise A7o. Button, SB, BB(Villain), and poster call. Obviously not the results I wanted. Flop: JT6r It checks around. I initially didn't see any good in betting but after I checked I questioned it as we have two blinds and a poster involved. I'm still not sure Turn: Brick It checks to me again. I bet and only the BB calls. I'm not sure what I'm representing here. I C-bet many a flop so I'm hoping this looks like a whiffed flop C/R with a monster. Either that or whiffed AK that likely has the best hand given the action. I put BB's range heavily toward a draw. I'm 85% positive he would have lead any J/T given the flop action or my lack of a C-bet may have him confused/concerned. River: Brick BB bets, Hero is divided as follows: 60% wants to raise (only because my Ace is weak) 38% wants to call 2% wants to fold __________________________________________________ __________ Hand #2 New unknown player just posted in MP1. Preflop: Folds to MP1 and she checks her option. Folds to me in CO and I raise AKo. All fold and she calls. Flop: 744 two tone, black board. MP1 checks, I bet, MP1 calls Turn: red Q MP1 starts to make a move for chips and I make a move for my own chips pretending to be oblivious to her actions. MP1 checks, I bet, MP1 calls River: brick MP1 bets, Hero ... |

Re: Ace high at the river and I like raising better
both hands well-played, imo - I hope you folded river in hand 1.
hand 2 river is slightly more interesting. MP1 is total unknown - I might be inclined to call with the losing hand just to get a read... |

Re: Ace high at the river and I like raising better
hand 1: flop is disastrous, I would never put another bet in on flop OR turn and hope to see a free river where inevitably the ace of spades will show up FTW, ldo
as played, I foldd river hand 2: when I read turn action I immediately thought you were making a move to try and prevent her from betting and then would check behind, but instead you bet, therefore I thought wrong with this action I'd check turn behind though and most likely call a river bet, even though in other circumstances without the move for chips, my standard line would be to bet turn, check river ui anyways, I think MP1 actually has the Q here quite often and I don't think you're good often enough to call so, as played, I'd fold unless you're willing to invest some monies for info |
