QsQd by Ballad126
Villain here is running at 48/10/0.5
I'm happy with my preflop and flop play, I'm unsure about the turn I was getting just over 3:1 odds which is pretty close to my equity even against a flush, and figured if there was even a small chance that he made a dumb play by flatting without a heart or folding with a weak heart, then I could stand to make a few dollars by shoving Obviously this player is a complete idiot, so I thought I had to shove. Note that I thought for about 15 seconds before I shoved the turn Can anyone give me an argument for check/folding the turn? Re: QsQd by Ballad126
No way you could fold here. And there is no reason for checking. So push is the only option here.

Re: QsQd by Ballad126
This individual hand would've played out much better if I had frontbetted the flop
How often do you guys think I should frontbet in this situation? |

Re: QsQd by Ballad126
I massively enjoy shoving the flop. A guy like this will call with big lone hearts as well as AQ and overpairs

Re: QsQd by Ballad126
My best estimation of the chances that he'd bet flop if I checked is about 85%, but I still think I should have frontbet
I'm really starting to think I should frontbet pot almost every time I see a set on a monotone flop oop What are the downsides to that? |

Re: QsQd by Ballad126
This is quite a bad beat. I would bet the flop, but check/raise the way you did, the size you raised, is fine. However when another heart came on the turn, you just gotta stop trying to take it down with the shove. 4 hearts on board and it's no longer how great QQQ looks or how much $$$ you've already put in the pot. Opponent has shown no reason for you not to strongly believe that he holds 1 or 2 hearts, so you just can't shove there.
However I think the biggest mistake is not check/raising the flop or even shoving the turn(you felt pot-committed at that point, too bad), but not 3-betting preflop. Had you done that, he would've simply folded. And if he hadn't then you would've been able to narrow down his range much better later on. |
