Major beat: Anthony Wilson dies

The news is just reporting that Anthony Wilson died of cancer last night.

For those of you who don't know the name, he was one of the most important figures in the British music industry - a founding father of the Madchester music scene and creator of Factory Records, home to the Happy Mondays, Joy Division (and later New Order), the Durutti Column and A Certain Ratio.

I could rarely care less about celebs, but I'm actually quite sad about this news.
