my fingers/neck/back crack a lot and it hurts.
The title pretty much says it all. My fingers pop all the time, even with normal movement. My neck is really stiff all the time and it hurts quite bad when it cracks. So...has anyone had any experience with this and know how to fix it? Thanks.

I dont know about fingers, but Chiropractor FTW.Seriously it will change your life. Also you could have arthritis, might want to get that checked out.

Re: my fingers/neck/back crack a lot and it hurts.
Will simply working ut clear up this problem? I do sit in a chair and play poker a lot, so that could be a problem. Fwiw, my mother also has this problem. She said she gurt her neck one night and now she just cant pop it anymore. Also, she claimed the neck doctor is good but you have to go like 3 times per week for the rest of your life to get any relief. Is that true? thanks again

I heard chiropractors are terrible as you have to go to them constantly for relief.

Just working out wont necesarily fix your problem. I lift weights and run 4x a week, and still have back pain. Also, try and work on your posture. I spent like a grand on a nice computer chair, but I still lean forward in it slumped over. I have to constantly remind myself to sit up straight. |

This is just standard rsi [censored] from using the mouse too much.... you can go to chiropractor/massage which will help, but masseurs usually don't massage the arms very well, and it'll be your right forearm muscles that are the main problem, (provided you use your right hand for mousey)
Presumably your right forefinger is the most painful when it cracks? Basically massage your own arms daily and stretch them. Feel free to PM me if you want more detailed/essay like feedback..... |

Re: my fingers/neck/back crack a lot and it hurts.
The condition is called crepitus. Don't freak out about it though, (it's commonly associated with arthritis). You are too young and balla to have that just yet.
Flexibility exercises/stretching will help a lot with your back issues. Look into taking chondroitin tablets to help lubricate the joints. Drink more water than you think you should, get some exercise and don't go broke in an un-raised pot with a Q in your hand. Slacka |

Re: my fingers/neck/back crack a lot and it hurts.
Thanks for all the replies so far. I have been using a trackball mouse for about a year now and both of my hands hurt badly, not just my right one. Also, I drink a ton of water every day. I dont know the exact amount, but it is a lot more than everyone else I know. I do know that I piss like 10 times per day when im sitting at home working on the internet. Should I seek out a neck doctor or just a standard family doctor? How much should i be looking to spend on neck treatment per visit? I also get massages fairly often but it usually doesnt help...it just feels good.
