Default Agaton Poker Fund

Was eight tabling today, when I noticed players named "Mr_Filipsson" "Mr_Danielsson" "Mr_Erlandsson" and "Mr_Andersson" all playing at my tables, but never more than 1 of these guys at a table. I asked them what their deal was, and one said they were a team, and check out their website at agatonfund.com. Its a very professional looking website, but I cannot read what I believe to be Swedish. I would love it if someone could explain this website.

Thanks

My swedish is very very rough but it looks like a staking website dressed up as an investment fund.

Spot on.

They basically say that they 'invest' your money in poker instead of investing in shares, bonds, real estate etc.

Sounds very risky to me

Very risky!

If they were any good, they would have some confidence in their own abilities and either put in the time grinding their way up to the stakes at which they could make optium profit, or, if they were in a hurry, put their own houses/businesses/husbands/wives on the line as security to borrow the required bankroll.

Unless, of course, it's someone with an aircraft hanger full of 'bots.

That would explain:

a) Why they need investors.
b) Exactly why you shouldn't invest.

There seems to be many problems with this sort of arrangement.

1)
the players could lose money at tables to their private friends and share the profits, it would be profitable even if playing like only with 50% stake (or any %).

2)
there might be some legal problems, at least in Finland that sort of business would not be allowed at least as an investment fund.

3)
why winning players don't play with their own money?

And they say that they are starting in October. Why are the players already on the tables and what is the idea of similar nicknames, it is only easier for grinders to spot those grinders. Btw. there is a form on the website where you can apply to be their player

Stuff like this is always set up by either delusional people or a scam.

Email the site in question and say you suspect them of being bots.

Cant hurt if they have nothing to hide.
