Everyone is going to tell you to fold preflop.

well yeah i could have folded preflop. maybe best option but i didn't. I got myself into this little pickle. I figured if the table is going to play tight i might as well play more aggressive. If i fold here i still have t400 with the blinds at 25/25. my thoughts were as he was calling that he wasn't very strong. he was insta pushing when the river came out. It felt like a bluff. if he had 9T and made the nuts on the turn why would he want me to fold. at least that is what his push felt like to me. if he had a Q i would think he would lead or CR me on the flop because of the draw. maybe a smaller bet on the river and i belive he could have the straight and bet for value. am I thinking this wrong?

Could be a flopped set with the river push designed to look like a busted flush draw. It seems pretty player dependent and the truth is you'll never know (assuming you folded).

Is it 9 handed ? Then yes fold preflop.

Bet a bit more on the flop, 100+ looks good.

Check the turn, you now have a hand and try to get a cheap showdown. You can then safely call a medium bet.

As played, I don't think you beat him often enough as you bet flop + turn. You can expect him to beat TPGK most of the time, let alone 2nd pair. Fold.

The quality of play in live STTs is beyond pathetic (at least in Atlantic City). There is no way he is pushing a set here, hoping to rep. a busted flush draw.

As stated above, fold pre flop. Why get involve in a huge hand (as you did) when you have 28BB against bad players?
