Default Would This Work? (Traffic Stop)

You're speeding in your car. You're busted. Before or after you pull over you and your friend in the passenger seat jump in the back, switch places a bunch of times, etc, etc.

Now, unless the officer gets a good look at who was in the drivers seat (may or may not be easy to do), he can't prove who was driving.

Obviously one of you was but if no one confesses they can't get you for the speeding. Is there some other law this falls under? Is it against the law to switch places in your backseat?

PS - I'm fully aware that you risk the officer freaking out (shooting seems doubtful), he will be pissed, this is a lot of trouble over a traffic ticket, etc, etc. I'm just curious if it would work.

Obstruction of justice might be close.

This is what probably will happen:

Cop pulls you over. He observes two people moving a lot in the car. Cop calls for heavy backup, suspicious activity. 4 cop cars come. 4 cops with guns ready tell you to slowly and carefully get out of the car and face down on the ground....

....sounds like a good alternative,.

what do you do when he asks for your registration w. your name and address on it. You are legally required to produce that right?

Many cop cars have video cameras that basically point forward at the pulled-over car. A quick check of the video would probably elucidate the driver's true identity. On top of speeding, both the driver and the passenger may be charged with obstruction of justice. And because you hassled him and he's almost certainly a jerk, he'll probably say that you threatened to kill him when he approached the car and charge you with something for that, too.
