Re: NL50 AT makes trips raise on the turn
I probably call here and put out a 1/2 pot blocker on the river. His VPIP is high so let's hope he has a smaller ace

Re: NL50 AT makes trips raise on the turn
flop: you have to make a bet here
turn: why would you call? imo you have to push here you are getting great com cards, otherwise you can never play AT. |

Re: NL50 AT makes trips raise on the turn
Here's why I checked the flop.
I'm not playing AT to play OOP against an aggressive button. Targets were sb and bb (both juicy). So when I got HU with button I was ready to check/fold. Once he checked behind and I got a third A I decided that I have to at least give it a shot. |

Re: NL50 AT makes trips raise on the turn
I would call the $5.50 and hope he slows down on the river. There is a good chance he could be bluff raising you because he does not believe you have and A because of your flop check. A pot blocker will not work on the river like Fiksdal said, if he has you beat he will come over the top of it with his whole stack and just make it worse. If you check and he has you beat he will probaly bet around $20 instead of his whole stack

Re: NL50 AT makes trips raise on the turn
if you don't want to play against the button, bet out on the flop fold if he raises.

[ QUOTE ]
if you don't want to play against the button, bet out on the flop fold if he raises. [/ QUOTE ] If I don't want to play a hand a flop bet would be wasted money. Against a c-bet a player this loose and aggressive will either raise or call with any two cards and then bet the turn if checked to. So when I bet the flop I have to be prepared to put money in on the turn, too (and maybe even river as well) and presto I'm OOP in a big pot with a dominated hand. |

Re: NL50 AT makes trips raise on the turn
I call and then c/c the river.
I expect to be ahead a good portion of the time. Against aggressive players this is a bluff the majority of the time. He's not checking the flop behind with any piece of the board. |

Re: NL50 AT makes trips raise on the turn
As played I call and block up to 1/2 non-flush river.
-but I spew this month so beware. We look like a busted fdraw/aace so weaker aces will call and stuff that beats us likely raises. He could have a fdraw/either Axs fdraw on the turn. I hear your reasons for checking the flop, but think betting the flop is better - we will face trickier situations if we check but as you say the pot size is smaller- since your plan centred around keeping the pot small OOP[a good idea] -call tun and c/call or block river -check call probably better vs his range and gets to showdown for you witha smaller pot. |
