Default Flop second nut straight vs maniac, do I call down?

CO is a lunatic playing 76/46/1.7. He definitely tries to bluff and bully, although usually shows up with a hand in the big pots.

I call on the flop because I have the second nuts. (Should I just fold here?)

On the turn I might lay it down but I have the second nut flush draw to go with it.

The river card doesn't change anytihng. I folded but I don't know, should I have called? Or is it just a "read dependent" jobby?

Why do you never raise on flop or turn? The guy potted in late position. There was a recent thread on how to play against very loose aggressive players. I do believe 2nd nuts is a good hand to attack with.

The second nut straight on the flop without redraws can be a big dog to many hands - I'm behind 99Tx for example. I don't want to play a big pot... not sure if this makes me a nut pedlar or just sensible.

Yes but he's a maniac, isnt his betting range large. Repot the flop, you can fold to a push, you can also call flop and bet the turn. I just dont understand your line. The hand values did not shift from flop to river. By never raising, we never find out if he is fos. I do not mind if you fold the flop, the pot is so small. It just seems like a maniac is the one person you should not mind playing back against with second nuts.

Raising anywhere is terrible. If he's truly a huge maniac and will fire three shells each for the pot, then I guess you can call down, but against your average overaggressive bad LAG, I think this line is perfect.

I like calling down. I feel like reraising will get you scared out of the pot if he pushes back with top 2, 75, and all the sets, assuming he is that much of a maniac. As played I think I call the river.

i like your line and i'd call river. maniac lags prey on weakness, and you showed a lot of it.

i just bet the flop and if he calls fire another shell on a safe turn - if he raises you either street you are probably behind, but alot of lags at these levels run hyper agro pre flop, and quite tight passive post flop - 1.7 is really quite passive

i think its important in PLO to seperate lags into 3 catagorys post flop - floaters, ultra agro and tight passive and play them accordingly

Why oh why would you play it so weakly then NOT call the river? That's awful. The way you played it, he might not even be bluffing but you would still have the best hand...

I might lead out the turn occasionally.
