25NL....Was slowplaying this hand on the flop a mistake?
I had the nuts on the flop, but slowdown after he raised me on flop to make him think I was weak. See how the hand played out:
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1341536 My question is: was this hand just a cooler, or did I make a mistake by slowing down on the flop? Thank You. |

Re: 25NL....Was slowplaying this hand on the flop a mistake?
I would definitely bet that flop. Any ten, Acxc, 8c9c, overpair is likely to stack off to you there, and you want to get the money into the pot when your hand is best.
Turn check is awful too, so many draws hit with that card, and he's likely to have a hand by now, so why not bet? If NONE of that board has hit him, he's not going to call a bet on the river anyway. P.S. - And it's not the nuts, 107 and 1010 have you murdered here. P.P.S. - and it's not a cooler when you simply let the other guy draw out on you. |

I didn't repop his raise on the flop because I was running over the table before that hand. I mean, I was raising and c-betting nonstop. That was the reason for me just smooth calling his raise on the flop, I wanted him to think I was weak. I checked the turn because I was expecting a bet from the villain, and he had, I would have repoped the turn hard. |

Re: 25NL....Was slowplaying this hand on the flop a mistake?
I take your line a lot OOP when I'm 99% sure I'm ahead on the flop and get raised. A lot of opponents will pot/push behind your turn check figuring you for overs and you have their stack. Think you played it perfectly.
