Bring Back the Gladiator!

Would anyone like to bring back an option of "Gladiator" for anyone with a very long prison sentence/death sentence?

Assuming the world's population would let it happen (they wouldn't), would a present day Gladiator system be beneficial?

Personally I'd like to see it at least once.

My dad, who is a little nuts, is always saying that executions should be televised as well.
