100 NL, decision for all the chips with a gutshot straight flush draw
Villain is unknown, new guy at the table. No reads - which sucks. 4 handed.
I should probably check flop here eh? What to do now? According to my numbers I am about 2:1 to win the hand worst case scenario and getting about 2:1 on the call, but I hate calling for all my chips with draw, even combo Advice/suggestions appreciated, I am a newbie to 2+2 Hero is at seat 0 with $50.90. Small Blind is at seat 3 with $53.05. Big Blind/Villain is at seat 4 with $50. UTG is at seat 5 with $45. SB posts the small blind of $.50. BB posts the big blind of $1. Hero: Th 9h Pre-flop: UTG calls. Hero raises to $4. BeccaDad folds. BB calls. UTG calls. Flop (board: 6d Kh Jh): BB checks. UTG checks. Hero bets $9. helgertz raises to $43, Hero???? |

Why is everyone playing with 50 BB? This is a call.

Simple math question...you need a bit less than 1.3 to 1 to call since 12 outs twice is ~44%. You are getting almost 1.9 to 1 here. This is an easy call.

Re: 100 NL, decision for all the chips with a gutshot straight flush d
Thank you for the responses. I was playing short because I got hit with a horrendous beat 2 hands before = maybe slight loss of confidence.
Is anyone worried about a higher combo draw in this spot - AQ of hearts? Shouldn't the fact your hand is non nut draw affect your action? As it played, he had a set of Jacks, I turned a flush and he rivered a full house. Oh nooooooooo, . O well, thats poker, just looking for the right lines with combo draws and even stacks Thanks |
