Uhh, call? 89, 48 and 34 beat you here. If he's been calling that all the way down to this point, then congratulate him, reload and proceed to take all the donk's money in the coming hands.
It's entirely possible he's taking this line with a set of 55, 66, or 77 anyway. |

I instacall, there's almost no way he has a straight, you're way ahead of his range. And if he does you have a decent redraw.

Why are your bets so weak??? Why are you not playing with a full stack???? I think these 2 comments are common to all hands you post....

[/ QUOTE ] i thought 2/3 then 1/2 was standard [/ QUOTE ] The point is that your hand is so strong, you want to build a pot in earlier streets so you can eventually get all the money in later on. Say villain simply called you on turn, and river blanked. $14 in the pot, and you have $14 behind. If you bet $7 here and win, you did not extract maximum value from the hand. If you bet $14, if villain is not getting 2:1 on your range he is folding. Conversely, if you bet pot on flop, then on turn, villain is practically committed by the river. Also, you don't want to give him sufficient implied odds to draw out on your set. |
