Default NL200 - River overbet

Villain is a short stack and new to the table - no reads.

Maximising value, or losing it?

Losing value in my opinion. When there is a straight on the board why would you do this without the nuts? He has to have a 9 for him to consider calling.

If you put him on a 9, then check and let him try to VB you and you can push.

If he has a 9, this whole thing is academic.

Checking to him even if yout hink he has a 9 is too risky...

Just fire $15-20 on the river.

Yeah, I was saying that good players will realize what you have. I don't think it's terrible, like SABR says, it will work some of the time against the right people. A smaller bet will work a higher percentage of the time against a lot of people.

I think you're losing value. Only a 9x hand will call. All sets, 2-pairs, and 1-pairs probably fold.

Just value bet 3/4 pot to get those hands to look you up and hope that he raises with a 9x hand.

Those hands can't beat the board...

It's either all or nothing here.
