Scott Lazar = LAG?
Well its time to try and contribute something. Apparently villian in this hand is Scott Lazar who made a FT in 2005; I was curious as to why everyone knew him by first name.
40/80 The Commerce FR villain is UTG+1 and raises, Solid 40 Reg. 3-bets; Hero looks down at J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and caps villain thinks for a bit and calls, Reg. calls Flop: K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] villain checks, Reg Checks, and I bet villain calls, Reg. Folds Turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain Checks, Hero Bets Villain C/R, Hero ??? Plan for the rest of the hand!? |

Re: Scott Lazar = LAG?
Board's wrong. The T came on the turn, and I'm pretty sure there was no 9 on the board or you'd have had a gutter too.

Re: Scott Lazar = LAG?
No no its right. The flop brought the flush draw and on the turn i had a gutterball. Although it may have been something else than a 5; it was a definitely lowers than 9 or 10. Hah i thought u would be first to respond! Get some sleep you addict.

Re: Scott Lazar = LAG?
He is well known because he plays a lot at Commerce, there have been some threads about him here before. Pretty sure the consensus is he is decent and not a LAG but tries to have a LAG image. I think you are so dead here but you have the right price to call and fold unimproved. I would have checked turn probably.

Re: Scott Lazar = LAG?
Earlier in this session Scott had called a raise from the SB with 42s and went 6 bets on a flop of JJ3 with 2 of his suit.

Re: Scott Lazar = LAG?
Assuming this board is right, I check behind the turn with the gutshot draw/set draw/PBH (possible best hand) and call every river unless I know him well or he has some incredible tell or whatever. The reason why is because of what happened to you on the turn here and the big pot size.

Re: Scott Lazar = LAG?
I haven't played with Scott in a while, but played with him a lot a few yeasr aback. He alternates between TAG and LAG, mostly LAG. He's a very good and perceptive player; some 2+2ers disagree, thinking he's weak, but he's tough. People know him by name not because of his final table appearance but because he's a Commerce regular. I always got along well with him, but he can be a major a-hole, which I attributed, at the time, to his admitted drug abuse and marriage troubles. I think underneath he's a good guy, but his ego sometimes gets the better of him.
I'd have checked the turn, you're in trouble here. Then again, I'd have folded pre-flop. |

I'd have checked the turn, you're in trouble here. Then again, I'd have folded pre-flop. [/ QUOTE ] IMO, never being able to fold JJs to a 3bet preflop no matter who or where the raises are coming from is one of the defining characteristics of a 2+2er. This is an easy fold preflop, but I do not expect anyone on this site to agree with me besides you Andy. |
