BB is 40/10. standard loose passive fish.
Open-raiser was 18/14, but this looked like a good resteal opportunity for me.

Check or bet the flop? And if you bet, sizing is crucial. How much???

While betting is certainly standard and may well be the best play, I'm going to play devil's advocate and argue for a check-raise for the sake of discussion.

As it is, we are almost certainly behind whatever holding he has. No matter what line we take, we are very rarely getting him to fold the Ace. Therefore, a check with intent to check-raise allin maximazes FE and minimizes the amount of money we put into the pot while behind. If we check, villan may decide to B/F such holdings such as KK or KQ, which obviously is great for us. Having the flop getting checked through is not disastrous as it gives us a free card to hit our draw. The one drawback with taking such a passive line as when the hand gets checked through and our J high loses to something like QT.

Thoughts/Criticisms/Flames?

i can't see any advantage to a c/r. he just checks behind trash and low pairs that he'd fold to a c-bet, and we lose more to an A than if we just c-bet.
