30 hands in, aggressive game, guy is thinking and lucking one level below me, I stacked him tp vs. fd. He is on the button with 1400 I cover.

He raises to 40 I repop 120 with A9 he calls.

Why no flop bet? How often does he have AJ-AK here? How about A5/A3? A smaller bet as a bluff might be better if he gets here with a lot of weak hands. But in a vacuum I don't mind this.

c/c river is waaay cooler. He didnt fold a pair.

betting the flop is pretty spewy against most people here i think. i like OP's move, i don't see why he can't have folded a pair here, and c/c is awful because he has Ax where x is higher than your x here a ton, or a pair

c/c is better. sometimes he folds a pair and sometimes he doesn't. too expensive when he calls. I mean what a small % of the time does he have to call here when ahead to be +EV.
