Fasion: Part 2. Designing and Modifying
I see a ton of really cool shirts that are semi-modified or customized being sold in stores around Vancouver. Naturally, I have to have them. Ive accumulated a bunch of them, except the only problem is they cost around 100 each. I wanna be able to unleash my creativity on my own for less cost and more... expression.
What sort of things should I get and use so I can do that? Im thinkin modified shirts mostly but maybe some jeans too. Here are some things ive come up with thatll help me out: 1) a bedazzler 2) a sewing machine that I can use to hem + put sticking on 3) liquids that stain. Ive tried lipstick but i guess its meant to come out of shirts nowadays (wtf!). Red wine falls in this catagory. Ideas? |

Re: FasHion: Part 2. Designing and Modifying
srsly - ok...
1) go to some vintage shops and buy broken jewelry bits - perfect to stitch on by hand (use strong thread) (commit to large dry cleaning bills) 2) go to a tailor shop and ask if you can have some left over clothing scraps - you'd be shocked how much/many they will happily give you (and maybe you can charm them into some sewing work for you) 3) for staining, try naturals like if you want a vintage-y look on just about anything, soak it in reallllly strong black tea (use a metal container to avoid dying your white sink or toilet bowl) i could go on and on... i used to do this stuff all the time when i was 12 |
