Default $400NL | weak Aces v suspected bluff

iPoker, 6 handed. $350 effective.

Fishy table, but villain seems solid over 20 hands. He's opened AQs and JT in the CO, and I don't think he's limped yet, maybe once. I'm playing my usual 23/15ish.

Hero dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in SB

MP limps, CO Villain limps, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop ($16) A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]-8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]-6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Check, check, check, Villain bets $16, Hero raises to $55, fold, fold, Villain calls $39.

Turn ($123) A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]-8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]-6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]-3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

What do you think so far, and shall I continue with a turn bet?

don't really like the flop c/r, building any kind of pot sucks here. i would just c/c the flop, lead turn if you like or check again if he's aggressive.

Well, you have to lead/call since you cr/d the flop. Just the lead the flop.

Edit: Misread thought we had a fd. c/f.

i like any other line better. i like a c/c then c/c or donk the turn better. c/c the river again. as played i would just check and only call a small bet.

I wasn't going to put any money in post-flop until Villain pots the flop instead of taking a free turn. Clearly he doesn't have a good Ace - either he's got a set, draw, or crap, and I can take him off most of that range with a c/r. Once he calls, I'm in a tougher spot for the turn.

Hes not going to fold a set if you raise. And why would you want to take him off of a bluff?

the flop c/r isn't very good. It folds out all the hands you're ahead of and only hands that beat you call. It sounds like you were trying to "raise for info", which is generally bad. I prefer calling and re-evaluating the turn.
