KJ Top Pair Live $3/6 - line check

alright, so live $3/6 game, loose-passive table, villain has just sat down. seems aggressive, but not a strong read, yet.

I raise preflop with K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on cutoff, 4 callers.

Flop: K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Villain bets, I raise, and Villain and one other calls.

Turn: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Villain bets. Hero...?

At least in the live $3/6 games that i usually play in, a turn donk means two pair or better. I put villain on the hearts, could have flopped or turned two pair, or could beat my kicker anyways. Do i have to call down here?

With no reads I at least call, possibly raise if the other caller folded to the original bet. I will usually pay this off, unless it is a betting war between Villian and Passive Caller.

I would consider folding in a smaller pot.

i would raise, fold to a 3bet from anyone and check behind on the river UI.

I love raising for a free showdown here. You protect your hand against the 3rd guy in the pot and you can fold safely to a 3-bet.

I like both raising and folding better than calling here. Raising costs no more than call/call, but there are benefits you don't get from call/call. One negative is you don't get to a showdown if you get 3-bet, but here that's not really a problem since you're almost 100% beat, except by a known gambler with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

In the absence of any reads - call this one down. Villan could also have K-x [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

If it's raised behind, fold but definitely call one bet on turn and river here. If it's checked to you on the end, check behind.

thanks for the input. if the hand was heads up after the flop, do you still advocate for a raise?
