Re: Playing AK near the Bubble deepstacked
I'd probably raise to at least 4000 preflop. Bet more on the flop.
I gladly shove on the flop when I face a raise. Though how'd you raise the flop when everybody checked to you? Weird hand converter. |

Re: Playing AK near the Bubble deepstacked
Raise to 5k PF, easy call on the push by villain on the flop. Also, 33 BBs isn't deep stacked, it just feels like it sometimes in online MTTs.

Re: Playing AK near the Bubble deepstacked
you're giving the limpers pretty good odds to call you PF. there is 3600 (+ antes?) in the pot before you come in, and you only raise another 2200? by the time you've called, there is 4400 in the pot, so i'd make it at least that much more to call. 5800?

Re: Playing AK near the Bubble deepstacked
---
OP, You are not thinking like a poker player. You are not trying to figure out what your opponents have and you are not trying to figure out what your pot odds are vs. the odds that your hand is best. From your post it seems that you are not really thinking at all. You should probably work on that. What is the reason that you are questioning getting your money in here? What alternative lines do you think might have been optimal if this one was not? What hands do you think your opponents might have that would pay you off? That would beat you?... Just asking if your play was good and then commenting that you got bad beat will never help your game. --------------------------------------- [ QUOTE ] you're giving the limpers pretty good odds to call [/ QUOTE ] I have read this criticism a lot but I don't really understand it. Why don't we want the limpers calling our raise? What hands limp and then call a raise to 5800? What hands limp and call a raise to 3000? Anyone feel free to answer this question... |

[/ QUOTE ] it seems like any hand that would limp and call a raise to 3000. maybe things like connectors, pocket pairs, two face cards. who limps with these blinds anyways? certainly AsTs is one of the better things (for us) that he could be limp/calling with. (although i've never played it this way) add: if he limp/calls 5800, he's probably got a very good hand (was this what you're trying to say?) |
