Default Fantasy sports (fantasy football especially) in Sports Betting?

Per request, re-running this poll from last year.

Last year about this time, we asked the forum if you wanted to allow Fantasy Sports discussion in here. As always, this forum is really run by the will of the people who actively participate in it. The decision last year was to keep fantasy sports in the Sporting Events forum -- so anyone posting Fantasy Sports questions over here got them moved to Sporting Events.

My thought would be, if everyone wanted to allow it, we'd let one thread be active per week (or month depending on traffic) the same way we do with the chatter thread, arbitrage thread, etc.

This would be a place where people could post anything relating to fantasy sports -- lineup questions, whatever.

This does NOT concern the official Sports Betting Fantasy Football League (SB-FFL) which will be starting up again soon and will operate under the same rules as last year (one active thread allowed per month).

This also does NOT concern any posts about fantasy matchup betting, if sites are going to offer that again (i.e. as last year where you could bet on an individual running back's performance versus another at a sportsbook). Those are always allowed as despite the name they're just direct sports handicapping and wagering and thus 100% appropriate for this forum.

Results of the poll and any relevant discussion will be weighed to make a final decision.

-P

LOLZ at sites that offer fantasy match-ups most are idiots.

I voted yes because

A.Think of it as a series of season long prop bets.

B.There is serious money involved these days. In one of my leagues winner gets 5k for total points and 5k for winning the league. Win both , 10K nice.

C.You are betting on something that a sporting event detemines the outcome. If we can talk about Paris Hltion prop bets on a Sporting forum surely fantsy football can be discussed.

D. Cmon people Its FOOTBALL!

No, I don't care if anyone pays $3k in your league to enter and it's even funnier that that is a 'big' amount so worth putting on this board.

Football 'talk' goes in SE.

Yes, game props like LDT -3 v Gore +110 goes here, that is a bet. If it's not an actual sports bet THAT OTHERS CAN ALSO GAMBLE ON or are interested in, then it shouldn't go here. [Of course, I bet my friend Yanks +3 v Sox season wins could still be discussed here, to be clear.]

I wouldn't be opposed to fantasy discussions about how to draft in various point set-ups for pay leagues etc.

But I'd rather pass on "Should I trade Johan for Liriano?" than actually see +EV threads posted on how to hustle donko pokar players. Now if I can just sneak into one of the HSNL fantasy sports. Hrm.

Brag: Somehow they let me in one of them last year, maybe one of the benefits of being green.

I went 13-1 regular season (only loss in a week where my starting QB and one of my starting RB both went down early in games) and cruised through the postseason to take it all down (split prizes for regular season victor and superbowl winner). My average margin of victory was usually higher than the average scores of the rest of the league.

Beat: I assume there's little chance I'm invited back this year...

Just becuae you are not intrested doesnt mean others arent. As far sport betting goes I hardly think Paris Hilton or any other of the dumb props some of you degenerates bet on is a sport in anyway. Its not a SPORTING EVENT, but its not really a single game eithere. Where can we go to discuss it. Also you can play, instead of running around chasing your loses by betting on Rugby and soccer join a league.

As far as money goes its 5K not 3K. And I will be in four 500 dollar leagues. Just in case you cant add that 20k if I can win all four. That would be enough to pay the house before I hit 30, so yea its kind of a big deal to me.
