Default Beat: Lost $$$ to Frenchies in Paris ...

this is a half beat/half informational post to let those of you travelling to Paris know that there is a quite decent poker room to be found there, right down the street from the Arc de Triomphe. It's called the Aviation Club and you can get in just by showing your passport, as long as you are well-dressed- no sneakers and a suit would be even better.

As far as the beat part, pretty much all of the French players were very loose, with every table I played having at least a couple of maniacs. But, with the exception of one night, I simply could not get the cards to exploit it so I lost several hundred dollars to players playing pocket cards like J-6o. It was open all night, though and it made the early morning hours pass by much more quickly- I was still used to American time so didn't go to bed until 6 am or so.
