small buy in, just after buble facing big bet on flop holding trips
ok maybe this hand is of no interest but I begin
couldn t manage to convert hand so will discribe it then post it middle position folded to me hold AA blind 300/600 ante 75 stack 13.8k raise 1500 (too low maybe but my standard raise) previously i doubled up twice but tried some steal with poor hand in position and had to rurender to all ins from big stak every one fold except bb 21k who is very loose he called for half his stak with 46o an all in of aa and cracked it and doubled up calling jto against aq flop Ac4s5s blind check i bet 1000 (pot 3000), i have the board rigged and try to price in a flush draw or a pair not believing in aces insta call (most likely call all button)I really feel he has a draw but not sure turn 3d blind goes all in well i am a bit stuborn and wasn t prepared to let go trips but still I gave it a thought what hand could do that maybe he has trips but would he insta call flop with possible flush draw and don t even think about reraising he would also give a thought to a small pair so he had either a straigh draw , a made straight or a flush draw betting his flush is unlikely but maybe he thinks he can get me off a weak ace or a pair maybe 10% of time he can have 67 26 25 24 there i have only 20% -25% chance to win also 53 or 43 could warrant it maybe and i am ahead after this though process i didn t feel too good would you??? Re: small buy in, just after buble facing big bet on flop holding trips
You bet small on the flop to price in the draws. What was the plan if a spade came?
I think that the flop bet was a mistake. There was 3900 in the pot and you bet 1000, which assures a call, but also looks weak. You have really begged him to bluff at this pot, so you now have to call. Since you showed weakness and this was an obvious scare card, I think that raises the likelihood that this is a bluff or semi-bluff. And if he hit his straight, you have outs. |

Call. You've made a bunch of mistakes but you're still ahead more often than not in my opinion.

I'm not folding aces here. What hands are worth calling a preflop raise with that contain a deuce?

Re: small buy in, just after buble facing big bet on flop holding trip
This seems like a results-oriented post. I'm sorry if the guy had the straight, but there's no way in hell you can fold here.
There are far too many hands in which you're ahead, esp against an incompenent villain. |

I wouldn't fold either, but I wouldn't be extatic about my hand. Could be the dude has A3 and though "dingdingding, i sucked out AK"

Raise more pre-flop, bet more on the flop, and call the all-in.

Raise more pre-flop [/ QUOTE ] Depends if he raised 2.5xBB in previous hands .. if so, he should continue to do so, even with AA. I also like to make it 2.5xBB once blinds and antes get bigger (accomplishes the same as a 3xBB raise would and you safe some chips) .. maybe a bit less with a funny amount like 1.479 Everything else has already been said. Raise bigger on the flop, call the all-in and load another tourney because you got beat by a straight |

I also like to make it 2.5xBB once blinds and antes get bigger (accomplishes the same as a 3xBB raise would and you safe some chips) [/ QUOTE ] Why do we do this? By raising just 2.5xBB we price in the blinds to call us with holdings like suited connectors and stuff. We're still 20+ BB's deep, which is deep enough to make a 3xBB raise and fold to a re-raise if we're just raising to steal. I go down to 2.5xBB raises when stacks are shallower... |
