Shopping / Restaurants Recomendations for Amsterdam

So I am going to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks. It's not my first trip to Amsterdam but it is the first trip for the other people in my party. Does anyone know of some good eateries in Amsterdam (or Utrecht for that matter)? Also is there any places that are great for shopping (looking for cool clothing and original art primarily)?
