live 1/2NL. Im in MP with KK. UTG raises to $6, 1 call, I raise to $25, 1 coldcall, fold to UTG who calls.
FLOP: Q-K-3 rainbow. UTG bets $30, I push allin for $200, 1 fold, UTG calls. TURN: J RIVER: T UTG shows AKo for the nuts and scoops the pot. Now my question is did I misplay this? Could I have maybe waited for a better spot? This is an area of my game that I am really struggling with, and I seem to lose at showdown quite often. Serious advice only please no trolls. |

Um... no. You pushed with nuts and got him to call. You win the Sklansky bucks. Stop bitching at a sick beat.

You couldn't possibly find a fold on the flop? I'm thinking I took a big gamble and lost. If I keep playing this poorly I might as well just go play the slots.

seriously, i fold flop like 95% of the time here...unless i have a sick physical tell on my opponent. Online this is a fold 100% of the time every time.

Thinking now, he should've folded. Wait for the biggest pot I've ever played, like this:
1/2 NL Stack at $947 2UTG. Hole Cards: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] fold, Raise to $30 fold, call, 4 folds. Flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero Checks. MP bets 60. Hero Raises to 200. MP calls Turn Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero goes All-in... Villain instacalls with pocket queens, no diamond. I still wake up in cold sweats. |

wait for a safe river before getting it in. Top set no redraw isnt always that great.
