Re: $11 TP OESD vs two trappy players
I think i would of put out a bet on the flop. maybe 150-170 just to see how everyone reacted.
If everyone folds great, but if someone calls have more information to go off of. You do have a weak top pair and a oesd, so this is a decent spot to value bet your pair, or if someone calls and is ahead you may improve your hand on the turn. If you bet into them and someone raises big, the time to fold. Either way you play the hand (as played, or flop bet) you use the same amount of chips. The difference is you force the other players to react to you, and not you reacting to them. But as played really isn't all that bad. but i like a bet on the flop. |

Re: $11 TP OESD vs two trappy players
i'd fold this preflop.
as played, looks ok. i like a chehck/call on the flop becasue it keeps the pot small and give you a chance to improve without going broke. |

Re: $11 TP OESD vs two trappy players
John, that's really a fold? The BB had not yet raised PF, even with QQ and AKs twice. I think the chance of him raising if I limp was perhaps 5%. 7 to 1 isn't worth a call hoping to flop oesd, two pair etc.?

Re: $11 TP OESD vs two trappy players
The problem with betting this flop is that at the 11s, anyone with an ace is calling with their gutshot draw. So you are very rarely going to win it with a bet.
If they call, you haven't really gained any information, because they could have literally anything from a set, a made straight, to as little as KQo overcards. If they raise you pretty much have to fold. Check/calling a smallish bet is really your only option here. Your hand is nice, but you are never going to win a huge pot with it, because your straight will be a 1-carder if it comes, and even the biggest morons know when they are beat by a 1-card straight. |
