Establishing Credit - Best Credit Card for a college student?
I'm currently in the process of establishing credit... I normally only use a debit caard (or cash), and I have no student loans. I have a student credit card through my bank, but from what I understand, it's really not doing anything for my actual credit score (I believe its simply designed for students to get used to handling a credit card). Anyways, my parents think i should apply for a credit card, and I figured 2plus2 would be a good forum to find out the best way to establish credit/get a credit card for a college student. any ideas?

I have the Citi card for college students
Great rewards for the value, and low low interest rates. Also, they even reward you for good GPA, and paying on time. ftw. |

PICTURE: [/ QUOTE ] I thought about getting that card but decided to get the CITI Professional card. I get 3 pts/$ at Restaurants, Gas stations, and office supply stores. It also makes sense for me b/c I drive a gas guzzler - live 2 hours from my g/f and since i have a g/f, eat out a lot...half way to an ipod now...it is worth considering if you spend lots of money at these places, their points program is decent |
