...vs a big donk. Villain is 65/5/1.7 over ~200 hands. I think he's definitely capable of raising here with a worse hand - but often enough to get it in? I'm not sure. If you do want to get it in here, what kind of range are you putting villain on?
btw, in hindsight I think I should have definitely bet more on turn. Blinds: $1/$2 4 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $102.65 Button: $295.95 Hero: $193.80 BB: $213.10 Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG folds, Button calls, Hero raises to $9, BB folds, Button calls. Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($20, 2 players) Hero bets $14, Button calls. Turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($48, 2 players) Hero bets $36, Button raises to $72, Hero _________? |

My standard against donks that don't fold with mediocre hands - c/c c/c c/c (throw in a block bet on the end). You make money from these guys when you got the big hands, otherwise keep pots small as they can have any 2 cards.
edit: as played could go fold or push both have merits |

His range is so wide though that I think it's best to just bet flop here. I think he'll rarely raise the flop with just a draw or weak pair or air. So in a way, I think the cbet is for value and protection here.
Does anyone else have comments on betting vs checking flop? Also, I'd really like to hear some more thoughts on the turn. I don't feel like I can fold here when this could very well be AK or KdXd. Maybe I'm wrong on both points though. |

I think this is a fold. How often do you see passive players minraise on the turn (especially now that it's a scary card for them)

65/5/1.7 isn't really all that passive. I'd consider this player to be unpredictable postflop, not passive.

i think he raises w/a lot of his range (which is think is pair + sd, tp, straight) but we're wa/wb so i just call.

If you get raised on the turn like that, especially by a passive player, I say you have to fold.
In spite of the draw-heavy board, I would be inclined to check/call the turn. Otherwise you are heading for an allin confrontation, holding only TPTK, when the board is scary and the river likely even more so. |
