AK flops top two, creative or FPS?
First off I hardly ever do this, so thought why not play a hand a bit unorthodoxly for once to mix things up. I'm new to table and don't have any HUD stats on villain yet. Is this line sexy or a case of FPS?
Was planning a flop c/r, but that whiffed. Turn is standard, at which point I put villain on either the turned flush draw or a weak ace. Now, when I check river, I think my hand looks like QQ/JJ that was initially playing for pot control and then took a stab at taking it down when no-one showed any interest, or just a small pair / air that is going to fold. Accordingly, I think he will bet both his missed spade draws and probably his weak As for value. When I CRAI, I either have a monster or air, and with me being an unknown to him and this being Party Poker, there's at least a chance he looks me up up with an A or a weaker two pair. Is my thinking solid here, or is this altogether too fancy? Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $3/$6 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) SB: $114.00 BB: $2,036.05 Hero (UTG): $1,009.00 CO: $805.60 BTN: $621.35 Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 Players) Hero raises to $21.00, CO folds, BTN calls $21.00, SB calls $18.00, BB folds Flop: ($69) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players) SB checks, Hero checks, BTN checks Turn: ($69) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players) SB checks, Hero bets $60.00, BTN calls $60.00, SB folds River: ($189) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, BTN bets $150.00, Hero raises all-in to $928.00 |

Re: AK flops top two, creative or FPS?
Meh. I dont really like your flop check. I guess it depends how often youve been Cbetting. If you had QQ/JJ, are you normally checking flop here? And After checking flop would you normally bet the turn? Given your flop check however, i do like the turn bet, and I think your logic on CRAI on river is correct. Id like to here other peoples thoughts on this, I havnt played 6 max in like 2 years so my thinking may be off.

Re: AK flops top two, creative or FPS?
If I have QQ/JJ, aren't I worried about the shortie c/ring this flop? In truth I probably do bet QQ/JJ here most of the time, but I think I can understand checking these hands as well.

Re: AK flops top two, creative or FPS?
This is fine. You have to mix it up against thinking players once in a while. The problem lies in when nonstandard plays like these start becoming standard for you
