1st one kind of sicks. I mean, some of the parts are good. But many are just okey, nothing special. I owuld suggest, add other genres. You are just mixing hip hop w/ hip hop. Add in some other genres that mix well with rap. Like you can keep it a rap/hip hop mix, just spice it up with some industrial or pop, or funk/jazz, or rap bass lines or acapellas. Your mixes are good interms of the technical stuff, so I guess I just don't like the music your using.

Second mix, 10x better. I like old school stuff way more, so maybe thats why I like it. All the songs are different IMO, and the mix is more interesting, where as the first one is kind of monotonous.

If you dont know where to look for other genres, check out this for inspiration:

http://www.partyben.com/downloads/mixes.html

party Ben is a local SF bay area DJ who is on the ALternative rock station here all the time. I like his mixes alot. These are more like mash ups though.

[censored] has a few, or at least used to. Just type in "sixx mixx" I think it is leagal to DL them actually. NOt sure though. Also acapellas4u is a good site to listen to other ppls mixes.

These mash ups are way more trance/alternative rock oriented though, so IDK if you will like them.

I like the Gnarls Barkley part 1/5th of the way in:

It's sort of a tough life, right?

The people who know how to DJ don't like this stuff. It's hella played out.

Otoh, the peope who dance on the floor will love it.

In reality, it's all about the people who dance, right?
but it's also about the people who love the music
and trust me
they ain't lovin it

I'm not hating on this at all.
It's a good mix, despite the fact I might not like these songs.
But people will like it
and people will dance
and ultimately that's the goal.

Keep it up homie. If you spin in the bay area, lemme know, I wanna come see yer show

This mix is really really really bad. Terrible flow, goes from one song to another that sounds completely different. Sounds like you just went down your playlist with crappy transitions. Try listening to the songs next time. Sorry if my critique came off as offensive but you could benefit from it.

lol, everybody else who heard it loves it.
in particular, what songs didnt flow right. most of them flowed right on (specifically the transitions the original samples to the rap song ie: juicy/mtume.)

Just because you mix in a new track at the end of an 8 count doesn't mean it flows right. Some songs sound/feel different from others and this isn't something that can be taught. Like I said, try listening to the songs. And don't play that mix at a funk club unless you want the whole room wondering if you've ever danced a day in your life.
