Trying out different lines w AK
So instead of 3-betting AK like every time, I'm trying to coldcall and raise a lot of flops [ones I hit, ones I miss].. Is this a pretty standard line against this villain?
Not sure if I should bet the turn because I think it folds out his one pair hands, and gets a lot of chips in when I am crushed. River call is fine right? Re: Trying out different lines w AK
Your about 50/50 vs my riverrange here so call should be rly EV+ vs most non-nits. Id rather call the flop and bet turn when checked too imo, but i like to hear more about this

Re: Trying out different lines w AK
looks ok to me, A9-AQ is a huge chunk of his range

Re: Trying out different lines w AK
I definitely like the preflop smoothcall vs this villain.
On a flop this dry I think you extract the most by just calling the flop and turn and bombing the river (hopefully he value bets three streets but if not you have a good chance of getting a c/c out of him on the river.) Raising this flop just makes him shut down with weaker aces, and on the flop you've represented so much strength that you're basically forced to go into "get to showdown" mode on the turn. Let him keep value betting his AQ at you and commit himself. As played just call river, I don't see him calling a shove with worse very often. edit: obviously if he checks the turn we're betting turn/river when we smoothcall the flop |

looks ok to me, A9-AQ is a huge chunk of his range [/ QUOTE ] so bet the turn, he wont cr bluff you on this board. edit: actually tons of people love to cr with adjd, etc, I still lean towards betting but prefer it when they can't have these type of hands. |

Re: Trying out different lines w AK
I'm not sure all of those aces come along for the ride if we bet the turn. Maybe they do though
