Default so let me get this straight...if I go to Hilton AC..

...I could play poker for a few hours and then probably get a comped room? Just wondering before I go down there with that as my only plan. Thanks.

Nope, not comped, but poker rate, which is like 47 or something during the week.

Who told you this? They lied. You get a discount called the poker rate.

The poker rate is rate $29/night on weeknights. You probably need to book it in advance.

I did once get a comped room at Hilton though (and I only play poker). I was trying to book a poker rate room, and kept getting bounced around on the phone with various people (because TK wasn't there), and finally got connected with a casino host who said she had no idea about the poker rate, but that she could comp me for one night.

I don't know if I could get this if I went straight to the host...I guess I should try it sometime, but because Hilton already has the best poker rate in AC, I've never had the incentive.

The Harrah's properties comp rooms if you play time games, only problem is the only time game routinely run at Harrah's properties is 2-5NL.

You need to talk to TK in the poker room. If he is not there, ask when he will be on and call back. Do not ask anyone else in the poker room as they do not have a clue and messages get "lost"/not passed on. I was there Monday for the 2PM tournament, they had 3 or 4 cash tables going and 4 tournament tables and managers were running around like chickens with no heads. Add on top of that a couple of players who waited in line in the hotel lobby for an hour for their "poker rate" room, only to find out there reservation was never input.

Of course, the rate is based upon availability of rooms in the hotel. Never a problem during the off-season, sometimes Sundays and Thursday are booked full during the summer.

Are you sure about this? I asked the floor person at Caesar's this very question last time I was there and he told me they do not comp rooms for any reason, and I seem to remember being told the same thing at the Showboat. Entirely possible they were blowing me off, but I play mostly the 2/5 games, pay time, and would be interested to find out differently.
