Default Crying Call

Stars $1/2.

I've been mixing it up.

Villain has been very active, he's seen about 35% of the flops. Haven't seen him show down too many hands but he seems to be involved in a ton of pots and has been going to the river in like all of them. We each have about $300. This is from memory but pretty close. I open A9o in MP, he calls in the CO..SB ($80) calls.

Flop: Ad Jd 4h

SB checks, I fire out $18, CO calls, SB fold

Turn: 3c

I fire out $34, he calls

River: 10h

I check, he instantly bets $100, I call

Reason I called: First off the diamonds missed...due to his activity he likely raises AQ on the flop (I saw him raise top pair earlier), he def. 3 bets AK preflop...he raises AJ on the flop or turn...he also raises A4/A3 before the river but likely mucks them to a preflop raise.

Don't see why he'd call the flop bet with SB still to act with a lone Jack

Thoughts?

Diamonds are only a small part of his range, c/f river, call smallish bet.

So are we just under the assumption that people only bet large amounts with large hands?

If he's betting $45 wouldn't that be scarier...like he's taking me to valuetown?

And I gave his range...it's diamond combinations,A10,A9,A8,A6..

I dont know about crying call, I'd be tempted to give up and fold.

The way you analyse it's like your instincts just say CALL, so go with it.

It seems to me like you make lots of quite definite statements about villain that you can only know from playin with him - I mean isnt it poss he plays A-T, A-J, KQ like this?
