Default flushcard on river

I'm on a mission to build a little roll out of nothing. I know it's ten handed, but party doesn't give me an option at these stakes...

I'd check, and see what he does.. you don't beat a whole lot other than a bluff.

I checked and folded to a 56c bet.

I don't beat 89, but i do beat KJ of the possible straightdraws and I don't beat a flush, obv.

Would he possibly do this with AT planning to bluff at a flush card?

Was this a good time for a bbet to stop him from bluffing? Or would that be too expensive or only induce a bluffraise?
