Roulette Question
So I was watching some people play Roulette. I understand the payouts for the different bets and I know the house edge is 5.26 %. I saw 2 or 3 players with the speical roulette chips. But another guy came up and got a stack or 5 chips instead of the unique roulette chips.
Are players allowed to play roulette with any chips? Also I don't see the appeal of roulette. can someone explain. |

Re: Roulette Question
The casino provides every player with his or her own color of chips, just for use at the roulette table. This is so it's possible to tell which bets are whose on the shared layout. If you ask the croupier's permission, you may be allowed to bet standard casino chips instead; generally, they will only allow one player to bet any given denomination of ordinary casino chips at a time, again so there's no confusion about whose they are. If some other player is already doing it, you'll be told you can't.

[/ QUOTE ] It's fun because you can force your bets up to Martingale your way into a win like in blackjack, but at the same time, you still have the chance to hit a "big score" all at once on a number. Also, you can make all kinds of complicated betting patterns if you want to waste some brain energy. I'll never play regular roulette as a house advantage over 5% is just ridiculous, but I do play European roulette on occasion, and it's an extremely fun way to give your money away. |

Re: Roulette Question
My first visit to a casino - The Golden Nugget - in 95, I turned £50 into £1200 on roulette. It was such a buzz. Since then not one casino I have visited in the world hasn't been donated to by myself on that darn wheel.
Thank the lord for poker as the winner of the ME might say. |

[/ QUOTE ] 99 % of the time if you just drop a chip on a # or an outside bet and state to dealer your only passing by they will let it go. If you plan on placing multiple bets you might get turned down unless the table is empty. |
