Why? 98? I think a lot of mediocre players will peel here with a wide range and check-fold to a second barrel. Every draw missed (although 98 is probably peeling again).

98. 88, 109, 108, 87 and so on, j10 will call again with his straight draw, diamonds might have picked up a straight draw aswell etc

How is this bad? If they call here and brick on river, shouldn't it go check-check a large % of the time? Yeah, a few hands do hit this turn, but if we're including T8 and whatnot, shouldn't we include a bunch of suited and gapped [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] that I am still beating to even out the range? Edit: This probably doesn't even out the range as much as I originally thought as I only have AK and they're drawing very live.

I suppose it could go check-check on both turn and river with a lot of these drawing hands as well. I think a turn check is probably better largely in part due to this. You're right about a decent chunk of the flop calling range liking this turn.

Can anybody advocating a call give me a reasoanble range for a Villain here? Also, Villain is not a fish, but not a regular. I haven't seen him do anything crazy.

I'm fine with the turn bet because a lot of people peel lightly on the flop.

The FD missing on the river should make it an easy call.
