QQ Vs. Nazgul @ 3/6
Villain is Nazgul, a 10/20 SH regular whom I've never played with. I assume he is a good, aggressive player. Why he is at 3/6, I don't know. He hasn't been very active so far (I don't think he's been at the table long) and seems to be playing seriously.
Oh, keep in mind this is full ring, so basically my Queens play like a pair of 33 or some [censored]. ----- MP1 ($564) Hero ($722.25) CO ($410) Button ($806.85) SB ($1441.85) BB ($553.20) UTG ($621) UTG+1 ($615) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG calls $6, UTG+1 raises to $30, 1 fold, Hero calls $30, 4 folds, UTG calls $24. Flop: ($99) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) UTG checks, UTG+1 bets $42, Hero calls $42, UTG folds. Turn: ($183) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG+1 checks, Hero checks. River: ($183) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG+1 bets $144, Hero ?? ----- 1) That flop bet looks too small to achieve maximum FE, ya? 2) The river looks like straight value-townage, doesn't it? 3) If we decide that he is valuetowning, do I have any FE with a shove? Q9 got there and so did a backdoor flush draw. 4) Assuming I am being taken to valuetown, would you ever shove? Q9 got there as well as backdoor hearts. I really want to dump this river. He can't put me on QQ, but would he really bluff this river often enough for this call to be good? The board is pretty dry and I'm a tight player, although he might not know this. The ratio of worse vs. better hands that VB this river is completely [censored] for me as well. Comments? |

Re: QQ Vs. Nazgul @ 3/6
What do you expect him to call with on the turn? The board is pretty dry. Do you not think he bluffs enough on the river to make checking the turn +EV? Also, what do you make of his flop bet?

[/ QUOTE ] His flop bet could easily be AK AQ or KQ. I am in favor of betting the turn also. If you want him to bluff you here, and think he is capable of doing so, isn't calling pretty easy here?? Anyway I bet turn |

[/ QUOTE ] No. 1) I'm not sure if he's capable of a bluff here as I have never played with him. 2) I think a bluff by him in this spot on the turn is very bad, especially against me. I cannot see him bluffing this turn very often. 3) I never stated that I want him to bluff here. I asked Praetor's thoughts on the chances that Villain bluffs river if I check turn. |
