Re: Interesting Bubble Spot
If he's pushing ATC, it's a call. KTs has a 61% equity over a random hand. Is that really the case though?
I don't like calling w/ KT in spots such as these. I would either raise/call or just open push (which I'm fairly sure is +EV and unexploitable given your stacksize). Re: Interesting Bubble Spot
If you limp there, you have to be prepared to call a shove IMO. Otherwise, it's just in the hope that an aggro BS is going to let you see a flop on the bubble and that's just spew.

Re: Interesting Bubble Spot
First off I am pushing this alot of the time from SB especially into this type of player because he is calling with a huge range of hands. However, I would call as you played it, he is pushing any pp, A2+ as well as almost any K or Q and connectors with suited and unsuited as well as complete junk hands. I doubt you will get any nicer chances to double up with an M of 8.

Re: Interesting Bubble Spot
isnt his stack little too big for open shove? I mean he almost has 14bb left. Wouldnt you consider normal raise here?

Re: Interesting Bubble Spot
I do not like to limp here and any raise you make commits you to the hand. So just open shove.

I don't get why you didn't open push?

Re: Interesting Bubble Spot
I thought the open shove was a little bit too big as a poster previously mentioned however I was looking to get the money into the middle if I could preflop. I thought my limp would look relatively weak to the big stack. In the end, I called rather quickly and he showed me the monster also known as 10 5 offsuit. The 5 on the turn ended my tourney but I like the way I played the hand, especially because If I would have open shoved the money would not have gone in with me in such a good spot. I think the argument for open shoving is also relatively strong as the blinds were going up in around two minutes which i probably should have mentioned before.

Open shove is not too big. Your M is less than 10, if I read the blinds and antes correctly. 2. Calling and open shoving are different. With shoving, there is a good chance that he is folding a hand like T5o. In other words, the fold equity adds good amount to your total EV. Calling is totally out of question. You cannot call with a 60% favorite against a random hand. If it's like a pair, that might sense, because you are trying to trap him. I would still push though. |
