Default NL10 - Hit My Set on a Terrible Flop

Villain is very loose and seems determined get to the showdown at any cost. Have also seen him, at times, place alot of value on TP and be willing to shove (or call a shove).

His stats are: 62/11/0.78 over 132 hands.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.10 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero ($9.85)
Button ($23.73)
SB ($4.07)
BB ($4.76)
UTG ($8.38)
UTG+1 ($8.04)
MP1 ($8.60)
MP2 ($10.76)
MP3 ($10.76)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls $0.10, UTG+1 raises to $0.45, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.45, 1 fold, SB calls $0.40, 1 fold, UTG calls $0.35.

Flop: ($1.90) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets $1.9, Hero calls $1.90, SB folds, UTG folds.

Turn: ($5.70) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG+1 bets $5.69 (All-In), Hero.....

Ok, given my chances of being ahead on the flop, is a raise in order here? My call on the flop was not really a slow-play but I more or less wasn't sure exactly what to do given the board texture. The villain's pfr range indicated to me that a flopped str8 was unlikely ie 97, 47. The 3-flush aspect of this board and the lead out bet from a passive post-flop player, honestly just froze me. The turn allin lead just made me sick.

he isnt going to be shoving with a flush is he... u lose to 7-9/4-7... this is a blatent all in....he may be shoving with a flush draw and this is good for you as you are favourite to win

I don't think guys with aggression that low play their draws like that.

what about a raise on the flop with that highly coordinated board?
i'd like to find out where i stand before another (potentially deadly) card comes off
but i'm just a n00b fish getting my feet wet

i'd like to take the pot down now (potentially deadly) card comes off
but this makes sense because i want to take the pot down here as it is unlikely that i am losing and if i am then thats just poker but i am not folding here....

You should raise the flop here, every time. If they flopped it, so be it, you've still got boat outs; but the open raiser has flopped it even less often than someone who called or limped in. A full pot bet from the pf raiser also says to me they have a strong hand that is vulnerable to a draw. Flop flat call is Horrible here with two left to act behind. HU it's just bad.

He's going to think you have a draw and call off all his chips with some big overpair, with or without flush outs. Also, you don't want someone else behind you to get really good odds to call with their Ah or combo draw. Another heart on the turn will either kill you, or kill your action if you're still way ahead.

Scary flops are your friend when you have a set and your opponent has a good big pair. They're going to often go broke with hand their nearly drawing dead with when they think you're on a draw.

I felt I was ahead on this flop (not a "gut" feeling but a reasonable conclusion based on someone w/11% pfr) but realize it was just a matter of acting upon it accordingly -->raise.
