$5 Home game STT - KT with dangerous flop
Playing in a $5 home 6-man STT - part of tournament series where points accrued each month seed players in a later tourney. STT opens with 10K stacks and 400/200 blinds with 100 ante. We are about 10 hands in when the following hand arises. Stack sizes approximate:
Seat 1 (13000) Seat 2 (9000) Seat 3 (15000) Seat 4 (6000) Hero (9000) Seat 6 (8000) Hero is at the cutoff with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Seat 3 calls 400 Seat 4 folds Hero calls 400 Seat 6 calls 400 Seat 1 folds Seat 2 checks Pot is T1900 Flop is K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Seat 2 folds Seat 3 raises 1000 Seat 4 folds Hero . . . I think that HOH/1 deals with a similar situation, but haven't had time to dig it up. This is a dangerous hand with many draw possibilities, and it looks like I might be ahead in the hand, but who knows? I think folding is out of the question. Calling the 1000 seems weak to me. If I make a PSB and brick the turn, can I call any following bet? Folding at that point leaves me at M~5, and I am pushing with some trash in a few hands anyway. Pushing AI looks like the best alternative, since there are only ~10 hands that are beating me now, and even if someone has one, I got outs. I'm probably beat if I get called, but at least I'll keep someone from drawing at me with Ax or x9. The structure of this STT forces you to play fast, so a lot of luck is involved in any case. I'd be interested in any thoughts you might have. |
